I recently finished up two senior sessions with an amazing senior, Zoie and I am SO excited to share some of her sneaks today. Zoie wanted both a local and an adventure session, as there were elements in both areas she wanted to incorporate! We started with a local senior session in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and did a second session in Marquette, Michigan the following week! As a senior photographer, I am meeting new seniors every year and I am always impressed. To say I was impressed with Zoie though is actually an understatement. Zoie is mature, wise, incredibly smart and most of all so genuine! I was so thankful I could meet her and capture her dream senior pictures.
Local Session in Rhinelander, Wisconsin
First, we went out to a field in Rhinelander and tried a boho vintage setup for a couple photos. Then, we headed out to a beautiful and open area of the field with these beautiful daisies all around us! They paired so perfectly with Zoie’s boho vintage outfit! I loved her yellow smocked blouse with her tan fedora hat! One of the things I help plan as a senior photographer is outfits. I love when my seniors are equally excited as I to pick outfits that match the landscape well. Zoie was just that! She took the time to carefully plan her outfits based on location and color schemes. After playing with the daisies, Zoie did a couple more outfit changes and we captured some amazing golden hour glow pictures! By the end she was rocking her posing and knew what to do! She became a natural! The skies were clear and the sunset looked absolutely incredible this night.
Adventure Session in Marquette, Michigan
The following week we headed to Marquette, Michigan for Zoie’s adventure session. Zoie wanted to take advantage of all Marquette has to offer. She did her research and found buildings/colors and matched outfits with it! She even created a spreadsheet with all her outfits and locations! The first place we went to in Marquette were these beautiful stone brick buildings. I had Zoie walk down the alley + she absolutely killed it in her stunning one-sleeve black crop and her cheetah print midi skirt. It was literally stunning on her, and paired so well with the warm tones on the brick! We then continued with some urban vibes on the top of a parking garage. I love the historical + urban aesthetic we were able to capture.
We then headed down Lakeshore Blvd. in Marquette, MI to this beautiful yellow building with vibrant vines running down it. Zoie’s favorite color is yellow so she was super excited about this spot. We captured some beautiful long portraits, and then some close-ups near the staircase of the building. We headed down Washington Ave and captured some beautiful portraits at the steps of one of the historical buildings with beautiful stone pillars. I love how professional and feminine these turned out!
As the sunset was about to start, we headed out near Ore Dock in Marquette and made our way out to the water. Zoie wore a pretty yellow strapless dress with a ruffled hem skirt on it. We took some portraits walking down the beach and then stepped onto the rocks + captured amazing landscape shots at Little Presque Isle. Once we wrapped up on the rocks, we ended the night in a baby blue jumpsuit and splashed around along the beach! The glow in the background created an incredible backdrop for these pictures! We then ended the night with a cute boho picnic basket and blanket. By the end of the night we were both exhausted so we simply rested and took it the amazing view and sunset.
To Make it Short and Sweet
Both of these senior sessions were so perfect. The weather, the views….everything went so incredibly well. I was so glad I could head up to Marquette, Michigan again to take some amazing senior pictures. We went to some new places that I will definitely use in the future! If you are interested in an adventure sessions, I have some openings this fall! You can inquire here.
